A study reported in Science Daily indicates that the old notion that a sexual intercourse session lasting less than 30 minutes is inadequate is flat-out wrong!

A study at Penn State concludes that shorter times are probably better, with participants ranking a sex session as "adequate," from 3-7 minutes; "desirable," from 7-13 minutes; "too short" from 1-2 minutes; and "too long" from 10-30 minutes.

I sometimes take a little longer than the "adequate" time slot to finish things up, but I think overall I agree witht he "desirable" category, especially if we use some of our little toys.

So, get over your society-imposed guilt about not spending a half hour or more and get going on those quickies!

It's over too fast!

He's great looking, smells good, has a good job, and I like his laugh enough to want to make it work with us. But he's quick on the trigger, and I'm usually left with a bad set of cramps. What can I do to solve this?

This isn't an uncommon problem with a lot of couples. The nice way to look at it is you turn him on so much he can't hold back. You could do it again until he slows down! But usually, he's rolled over and started snoring. The trouble with things like desensitizing creams is that they desensitize you, too, which makes things worse. If you're using condoms, you could try a thicker one, meaning less sensitive, or one with bumps and ridges--less for him, more for you.

Then arrange things so that you get taken care of first. The fun of foreplay! Buy some toys (here's a good place ) and make sure they're on the nightstand (or coffee table) ready for use. Play with them until you get off, or close to it, then it's his turn. With the right toys, you can take him places he's never been, and I don't mean Neiman Marcus. Is he into oral sex? How about mutual oral sex accompanied by a nice vibrator (or two)? In other words, don't rush into the old in-and-out. You'll thank me.

And you can avoid needless tears of delicate tissue here and there. And there.

"Liquefies on contact." What poetry. You take a glop of this stuff, which has a consistency unlike any other man-made molecule, and it starts to melt immediately. It doesn't become runny--it becomes alive. It's nothing like Vaseline, that thick, gloppy, smelly crap. He never calls, he never writes

I've been dating this guy I met for the last month, but to say he's undercommunicating is saying too much. We had some fun, I thought it was going somewhere. What do you suggest?

Dump the jerk. Yeah, I'm all for working on a relationship, but you don't have one. Sounds like neither of you has much invested in this relationship, and with the economy as bad as it is, I suggest you invest carefully.

Push push in the bush

Sex in public. My bf gets off on it, the more dangerous the better. It's fun but I worry. What do you think?

Well, it's probably illegal, but so is selling sex toys in Alabama. So if you don't mind a misdemeanor rap or being the subject of a juicy headline, knock yourself out. Juan Carlos and I like to get to Haulover Beach in Miami now and then, one of the world's largest and best clothing-optional beaches. On a hot weekend, there are huge crowds from every lifestyle you can imagine. You haven't lived until you have nasty sex while bobbing in the surf in front of thousands of onlookers. Sometimes we're joined by boys or girls who "accidentally" bump against us. Or linger. With a few wine coolers and that great Florida sun, we're easy. Water's not the greatest lube, but if you've already smeared yourself with Hawaii Tropic Coconut Oil (SPF 0, no less), it'll all work out in the end. In and out.

As long as there isn't any sand or bugs, I'm in favor of outdoor love. We've done it in a stairway at the Seattle fish market and in the parking ramp at the Beverly Center (risky business). Marisol Hernandez and I have been selected to be the bloggers for the Spanish-language version of Mac & Bumble, the world's largest and most-successful site dedicated to the world's most beautiful women.
